This collection was put together by the Stevenson family who lived around the Snow Hill, Maryland area. They owned the business Stevenson & Brothers.
Stevenson & Brothers were cabinetmakers, undertakers, and sewing machine agents. They were located in Pocomoke City, Maryland.
Hugh Saunders Stevenson (1823-1909) was the son of Hugh Mill Stenson (1796-1884). He married Jane Catherine Bailey (1844-1882) in 1864. Stevenson is buried in the Makemie Memorial Cemetery in Snow Hill, Maryland.
The first folder contains an interview of Hugh Saunders Stevenson, programs for various meetings such as the State Teachers Association and “Oratorio of Queen Esther”. There are also a few invoices for the Stevenson family as well as some Worcester County election results from 1851.
The second folder contains an 1882 copy of Industries of Maryland, A Descriptive Review of the Manufacturing & Mercantile Industries.
