The Whaley Family records contain checks of Emma Catherine Purnell Whaley (E. Kate P. Whaley) (1861-1935). These checks range from 1912-1915 and are made out to the Exchange & Savings Bank of Berlin, Maryland. Also included are three letters to Thomas James Whaley (1862-1915) concerning settlements of the Gault property.
Emma Catherine Purnell Whaley (E. Kate P. Whaley) (1861-1935) and Thomas James Whaley (1862-1915) lived in Berlin, Maryland. In 1890, the two married in Somerset County, Maryland. They then had four children, John Purnell Whaley (1896-1978), Katherine Purnell Whaley (1899-1981), Dr. Thomas Brevard Whaley (1901-1954), and Ellen Robins Purnell Whaley (1903- ). Both are buried in the Saint Pauls Episcopal Church Cemetery of Berlin, Maryland.
