The Worcester County Historical Society Papers (1959-1978) contain newspaper clippings of accomplishments for the Worcester County Historical Society. Also included are correspondences regarding donations and a Worcester County Historical Society pamphlet.
The Worcester County Historical Society was founded in 1959 to “collect and preserve the history of Worcester County.” The organization assisted in the restoration of the Costen House in Pocomoke City, the Julia A. Purnell Museum in Snow Hill, and Furnace Town near Snow Hill.
The folders contain correspondences of Worcester County Historical Society members and local donors. There are also newspaper clippings about projects the Historical Society has tackled, such as remaking Furnace Town. There are also pamphlets detailing every historic site in Worcester County.
