It's that time of year again!  Here you can find information for both Maryland and Federal Income Taxes. Please note, we are unable to advise you about forms to use or give you tax advice, but we do want to help direct you to the right information. Contact information for tax assistance from the AARP and Shore-Up Inc. is listed below.

The Worcester County Library will only be receiving a limited amount of tax forms from the IRS and the Comptroller of Maryland.  If you need Tax Guides, forms and publications, please use the links provided below. You are welcome to print out individual forms at any library branch using our Printing To Go service!

Call 1-800-MD TAXES (1-800-638-2937) or 410-260-7980 from Central Maryland. Beginning February 1, 2023 through April 18, 2023, the Comptroller of Maryland has telephone assistance available to answer Personal Income Tax questions. Assistance is available from 8:30am to 7:00pm, Monday through Friday except on State Holidays.

AARP will be providing free tax preparation services for those who qualify at four Worcester County Library branches.

 

  • Ocean Pines - Mondays from February 5th - April 15th

 

  • Berlin Library - Tuesdays from February 6th - April 9th

 

  • Pocomoke Library - Fridays from February 2nd - April 26th

 

  • Ocean City Library - Saturdays from February 3rd - April 13th

SHORE UP! Inc. offers free tax preparation services through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) for individuals and families with incomes less than $60,000. All returns must have an IRS Intake/Quality Review Form. There are two locations for free tax preparation: Wicomico County at SHORE UP! Inc., 500 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD; and Somerset County at the Loretta Village Community Room at 12409 Loretto Road in Princess Anne, MD. For additional information, contact the Tax Office at eitc@shoreup.org, or call 410-749-1142 x1903.

 

Hundreds of the most popular federal tax forms and publications are available for download from irs.gov for sight-impaired individuals. These products range from talking tax forms to Braille formats and are accessible using screen reading software, refreshable Braille displays and voice recognition software. The IRS also offers customer service assistance for persons who are deaf or who have hearing disabilities. People with TTY equipment may call 800-829-4059 for toll-free assistance.

People who are unable to complete their tax return because of a physical disability may get assistance from an IRS office, or through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) sponsored by IRS. Taxpayers can find a nearby location by calling 800-906-9887.

Publication 907, Tax Highlights for Persons with Disabilities, explains the tax implications of certain disability benefits and other issues and is available at irs.gov.
